Masjid
A masjid is a place of worship for Muslims, often centering community, spiritual education as well as social welfare. It provides a space for Muslims to come together, worship and rejoice on religion occasions such as Eid. The imam is the religious leader of the mosque and the person who leads the prayers.
Reward
Prayers in mosques with congregation are considered the best way of offering prayers to Allah Almighty. In fact, the reward is 27 times more than a prayer offered alone, as narrated in Bukhari and Muslim.
“A man's prayer observed along with another is purer than his prayer observed alone, and his prayer with two men is purer than his prayer with just one, and whenever there are more, it is more pleasing to Allah, the Almighty.” (Sunan Abu Dawud)
Another Hadith that stresses on its reward.
The Messenger of Allah said, "Convey glad tidings to those who walk to the mosque in the darkness. For they will be given full light on the Day of Resurrection”
Overcome social and psychological problems
The masjid inculcates a sense of community and brings people together as they meet five times in a day for a single unified purpose. It also aids an individual psychologically and mentally as prayer provides a sense of strength for the human soul and it can eliminate sadness, fear, and anxiety. Prayer can also remove feelings of despair, weakness, and anxiety and hence, can have therapeutic effects on the mind, body and soul.
Be a Sadqah-e-Jariya
Being involved also includes donating in the form of building a mosque, proving the necessary resources or participating by simply putting one brick. This type of charity benefits you even after you leave this earth as it is a continuous reward. For every person who prayed or used the space that you helped create, you will be rewarded and such acts are highly beneficial for us.
